이번 호에는 지상 3층과 4층에 대한 공간을 설명하려고 한다. 3층에는 bath관련 인테리어가 전시 및 시공되어 있었다. 12mm 두께의 각종 세라믹 타일은 고급주택에서 bath디자인의 모든 것을 보여주는 것 같았다.
In this issue, I would like to explain the space on the 3rd and 4th floors above the ground. Bathing interiors were exhibited and constructed on the third floor. Various ceramic tiles with a thickness of 12mm seems to display every intricate detail of the bath design in a luxury house.
가장 인상받았던 것은 자연석이 아닌 세라믹타일의 무늬(pattern)이 큰 벽면과 싱크등의 사용될 때 하나의 자연석과 같이 연출 되었다는 점이다. 실제로 시공하시는 분들과 미팅을 통해서 이러한 시공과정이 대단히 힘들다는 점을 알게 되었다. 공장에서 인위적으로 제조되는 세라믹타일들은 고온에서 굽는 방식인데 결국 디자이너들이 원하는 패턴을 얻기 힘들다는 점이었다. 다만 현장에서의 작업자들이 이러한 세라믹타일의 패턴을 자연스럽게 맞추기 위해서 수백개의 박스를 오픈해보고 각각의 패턴을 실제 하나하나 보면서 맞춘게 된다. 이러한 정성스러운 과정을 통해서 결국 고급주택의 화장실의 디자인이 구현될수 있는 것 같다.
The most impressive thing is that the pattern of the ceramic tile, instead of natural stone, is played like a single natural stone when used for large walls and sinks. Meetings with actual construction workers taught me how challenging this construction process is. Ceramic tiles artificially manufactured in factories are baked at high temperatures, which ultimately made it difficult for designers to obtain the desired patterns. However, workers in the field open hundreds of boxes to match the patterns of these ceramic tiles naturally by checking each pattern one by one. It seems that the design of the bathroom of a luxury house can be completed in the end through this careful process.
화장실에서 벽면이 어두워지면, 싱크는 밝은 색상으로 표현된다. 이는 자칫 하나의 밝기로 화장실을 디자인할 경우 단조로움을 피할수 있기 때문일 것이다. 특히나 싱크 위에 있는 mirror는 사각형의 bath공간에서 유일하게 형태적으로 자유로운 모습을 보인다. 즉 라운드 mirror의 shape이 전반적으로 사각형의 언어로 표현되는 bathing 공간에 창의성을 부여한다고 할 수 있다.
When the wall is dark in the bathroom, the sink is expressed in a light color. This may be because monotony can be avoided if the bathroom is designed with only one brightness. The rectangular bathroom space's only form-free look can be seen in the mirror over the sink. In other words, it can be said that the shape of the round mirror gives creativity to the bathing space, which is expressed in the language of a square overall.
바닥과 tub이 마블무늬의 세라믹타일로 구성되면 공간이 어지러워지므로 이를 약하게 하기위해서 벽면은 무늬가 없는 세라믹타일로 진행되게 된다. 이와는 반대로, 싱크가 패턴이 없는 세라믹타일로 제작되면 벽면은 패턴이 있는 타일로 구성되게 된다. 또한 각 벽면의 포켓 공간을 이용해서 bath에서 사용되는 소품들을 저장하는 공간으로 사용하게 된다. 고급스러운 bath의 공간은 간결한 조명과 다양한 소품으로 구성될 수 있다. 샤워실과 tub이 있는 공간은 최근의 고급주택의 경향성이 좀더 나만의 시간을 가질수 있는 공간으로 계획되고 있다. 이는 bath의 공간이 더럽고 지저분한 공간에서 주택에서 가장 사용자의 개인적인 공간을 유지시켜주며 사색할수 있는 공간으로 변화하고 있다. 이는 더 이상 화장실이 감추는 대상이 아닌 가장 보여주고 싶은 공간으로 재 탄생하고 있다고 말할 수 있다.
If the floor and tub are made of marble-patterned ceramic tiles, the space becomes crowded. So in order to weaken it, the walls are made of ceramic tiles without patterns. Conversely, if the sink is made of ceramic tiles without a pattern, the wall surface is made of patterned tiles. The pocket on each wall serves as a place to store small items used in the bath. The luxurious bathroom can be composed of concise lighting and various accessories. The bathroom with a shower booth and tub is planned as a space where you can have your private time, which is the trend of recent luxury houses. This trend changes the bathroom as a dirty and messy space into a space where you can contemplate and maintain the most private space for users in the house. It can be said that the bathroom is no longer a space to hide, but is being developed as a space that you want to show the most.

4층은 방문시에는 아직 공사가 마무리가 안되어서 디자이너의 인터뷰를 통해서 공간에 대한 설명과 어떠한 소품이 전시되는지에 대해서 듣고 이야기하려고 한다. 4층에는 고급주거에서 사용되는 각종 textile이 전시될 예정이다. 주거에서 사용되는 textile의 종류에는 rug, mat, curtain등이 있다. 이러한 직물류는 차가운 느낌의 주택을 좀더 따뜻하고 온화하게 만든다. 직물류는 인간이 외부로부터 추위와 공격을 막아주는 역할을 하는 원초적인 기능 뿐 아니라 고급주택에서는 주택의 감정을 부여한다고 본 기자는 생각한다.
Since the construction on the 4th floor has not yet been completed at the time of the visit, so I will try to interview the designer on next visit about how the space was designed and the types of props are displayed. On the 4th floor, various textiles used in dwelling luxury house will be exhibited including rugs, mats, and curtains. These textiles make a cold house feel warmer and more welcoming. I believe that textiles not only have a basic function that protects humans from cold and attack from the outside, but also gives a welcoming feeling in high-end houses.
